Charming family restaurant with traditional well flavoured meals. Excellent choice of wines and knowledge of wine by staff. Very good value for money

Osteria dal Manzo

Just had pizzas, and those were good. However... we&#39;d booked a table, but had to wait for 10 mins to be seated. It was cold - my wife had to put her coat back on. It wasn&#39;t warm outside, so you&#39;d have thought they&#39;d have turned on the heater over the (open) door, but they hadn&#39;t. There was quite a long wait before our orders were taken, then a another long wait before our food arrived. Our young waitress was apologetic - she was good, but the other 2 older more senior staff didn&#39;t seem that bothered. If I was the waitress I&#39;d be looking for a job elsewhere.We can&#39;t recommend it based on today&#39;s experience.

We were welcomed so nicely and felt like we had a personal server checking on us so frequently.  Bread they brought out at the beginning of the meal was so delicious.  My pistachio pasta dish was delicious, I wish it was bigger portion because I almost licked my plate.  The owner treated us to a shot of lemoncello as we were paying the bill.  House wine was actually pretty good and very affordable.

Fun and creative menu with the best local produce. Excellent wine pairing. Worth going to!

Lovely restaurant within the walls of Lucca owned and managed by a young couple - he is front of house and she is the chef. We had a lovely evening with a warm welcome and excellent food and wine.  The food quality is typical of the region but the style of cooking is fusion which is a really nice change.The restaurant itself has  a very relaxed and elegant ambiance

Waiter was not engaged at all. Did not make us feel comfortable. Food was average.

Impeccable service, nice and relaxed, friendly and very knowledgeable. Food was outstanding making for a very memorable meal.

We loved the restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and the food was excellent.  we ordered an antipasti, homemade pasta and  the florentine steak. We can&rsquo;t say enough good things - The meal was superb.

Only sorry we found this lovely restaurant on our last night in Lucca.   Food well prepared and service very good.

We were not impressed with dal Manzo. We did love the fried anchovy app. My wife ordered clam spaghetti which was a 6 out of 10&hellip;it just didn&rsquo;t pop with flavor. I ordered the beef diaphragm &amp; potatoes - the beef pieces were incredibly tough! I was going to complain, but instead traded plates with my wife - she could not chew the meat either and left most of the meat on the plate. The prices are reasonable, but we nevertheless left unimpressed. To top it off the chairs at the tables indoors are not comfortable at all - I kept moving around in my chair to take pressure off (I am a skinny guy).

Great restaurant. The food is always good and the service is impeccable. I go whenever I&rsquo;m in Lucca and I&rsquo;ll be a regular when I move there.
